PLAYING BO PEEP

By Katy Day
Directed by Sam Mauceri

Bonnets and haystacks and sheep, oh my! What happens when nursery rhyme characters don’t want to follow their rhymes anymore? Bo Peep and Boy Blue test the limits of their destined pages and discover that their respective fates might actually lie in their paper hands. Watch them explore the confines of their book with questions like: What are we doing here? Why are these sheep baaing at us? And most importantly, why are bonnets really a thing? The answers might be harder to find than the sheep in this re-imagined world of Mother Goose.

VIEWFINDER

Written and Directed by Jared Mezzocchi

Our world is defined by the pictures we take, but at what point do pictures block us from the world we live in? In this multimedia tale of today’s need to document every moment with a finger tap, stop and join the journey of a roll of film, yes – an actual roll that takes time, yes – actual time - to develop. Follow its mission from Brooklyn to Paris searching for the owner, stopping groups of people along the way, and asking them to put down their phones, and dig deep into the identity of the now. It might change their lives.

Rehearsals begin: June 20, 2016
Performances: July 21 through July 30, 2016

Andy's Academy

Gabriel Macedo (Co-Director of Andy’s Academy)
Katerina Klavon (Co-Director of Andy’s Academy)

New to Andy’s Summer season-- Andy’s Academy! Seeking youth between the ages of 8 and 18, The Academy introduces participants to all aspects of performance, familiarizing them with skills that they will use on stage and off. With an emphasis on building technique, the two-week session will focus on vocal training, movement, and collaboration. These foundational skills will be taught through game-based work that emphasizes character exploration and text analysis. Participants will be able to receive one-on-one coaching with the directors, while group work will be used as an opportunity to build the students’ understanding of ensemble. The Academy culminates with a performance made up of smaller solo and group works, all emphasizing the summer’s theme: Identity.

Rehearsals begin: June 21, 2016
Performances: July 8 & 9, 2016
