FAMILY GUIDE: THE THINGS WE KEEP
Remembering important moments in your life is something we all do in different ways. We organize in pictures, smells, artwork, stories, objects, and more. When those memories fade, it can be a struggle to hold on to them. People with Alzheimer's may find it difficult to tell what is a memory and what is the present moment.
how do you keep memories? Do you use a journal, a photo album, or something else?
Frederico Fellini and 8 1/2
Fellini's somewhat biographical film, 8 1/2, is about a director struggling to make a film. Our play, The Things We Keep, is about a director (very similar to Fellini), his somewhat biographical film, Nearly Nine, and his struggle to hold on his memories slipping away due to alzheimer's. Starting to see the connections?
